Fostering understanding, inclusion & respect

In a society as diverse as Australia, tolerance and acceptance are crucial for fostering harmony and cohesion. Recognising and respecting the religious beliefs and practices of others is not only a sign of empathy and compassion but also a fundamental human right.

That’s why Remembrance Parks Central Victoria is proud to announce a community partnership with the Bendigo Interfaith Council from 2025. The purpose of the Bendigo Interfaith Council is to foster and promote mutual understanding, social inclusion and respect. RPCV’s Chief Executive Officer, Lauretta Stace said that “the purpose of the Bendigo Interfaith Council is strongly aligned with RPCV’s mission and values of respect, compassion, community, and collaboration. The Council brings together members of the community from diverse faith groups throughout greater Bendigo and as such is a voice for good and for harmony within the local community. RPCV is keen to work with the Council to leverage the strengths and resources of each partner, which can lead to lasting, positive impacts”.

The Chair of the Bendigo Interfaith Council, Judith Causon said “we are very pleased to partner with RPCV so that the people we represent can have an active role in planning for how public cemeteries are perceived and used as well as facilitate important discussions on key topics such as grief, death, memorialisation, and remembrance. The Council is also keen to ensure that appropriate funeral and burial services are available to different faith groups in the region”. As part of the partnership, RPCV will provide financial support to the Interfaith Council Annual Dinner which brings people together from all over the region to celebrate diversity and harmony.
